Recruitment for Forty Banking Officer II Positions

Bank of Uganda (BoU) wishes to inform all those candidates who were invited and participated in the Oral Interviews for the Forty (40) Banking Officer II positions held in February 2020, that the first phase of the recruitment exercise has been concluded.

The final phase, involving comprehensive due diligence is underway.  However, the recruitment exercise will be finalised after the Government has announced further easing of the Covid-19 restrictions and BoU has returned to normal operations.

Internship Program

Bank of Uganda’s Internship Programme offers a wide range of opportunities for students to gain insight and appreciation of the technical and administrative implementation of Central Banking programmes and knowledge in a conducive working environment of the Bank. The Bank receives interns in the months of:  June, July, August and September of each calender year. 

Internship Applications

  • Applications for the June to August intakes should be submitted between 1st – 28th February of each calender Year;
  • Applications for the September  intake should be submitted between 1st – 31st July of each calendar Year.

Bank of Uganda’s internship programme offers a wide range of opportunities for students to gain insight and appreciation of the technical and administrative implementation of Central Banking programmes and knowledge in a conducive working environment of the Bank.  The purpose of the Bank of Uganda Internship Programme is to;

  1. Provide a framework by which continuing students from diverse academic backgrounds may be assigned to various Bank of Uganda Departments where their educational experience can be enhanced through practical and hands-on-training in a real work setting.
  2. Expose students and deepen their knowledge and understanding to the work of Bank of Uganda, the Bank values and goals.
  3. Expose students to the various professional disciplines and culture within their areas of specialization

Requirements to Apply;

  • Applications for the June to August intakes should be submitted between 1st – 28th February of each calender Year;
  • Applications for the September  intake should be submitted between 1st – 31st July of each calendar Year.
  • Period of internship will be for one (1) month.
  •  Applicants should attach the following documents;  
  1. Application Letter
  2. Introductory letter from the university
  3. First Year results indicating the applicants CGPA (the CGPA should be at least 3.6).
  4. Applicants should be in their second (2nd) Year of study
